Key Stage 3
During key stage three (11 to 14 years old), all students follow the range of subjects in the UK National Curriculum (English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, Art, Music, Design-Technology, Information and Communications Technology and Physical Education). In addition two languages are offered (students take one only) French as a second language and Arabic for native Arabic speakers only.
This extensive curriculum is taught by highly qualified specialist teachers. The curriculum is designed to develop independent thinking and the ability to apply this in real life situations. It is important that as students progress through this key stage they become self-motivated and keen learners ready to tackle the next key stage that of GCSE examinations.
In all the above students are encouraged and taught to support each other in a caring environment. This is an important part of the PSHCE programme which completes the subjects offered at key stage 3. Here they learn about being part of the community and the world in which they live.
